ABOUT JULIE RAE

Julie Rae received her first camera when she was only 12 years old. A gift from her father. That camera opened her eyes to the world of photography. Julie Rae spent her youth growing up in Fargo, ND and Bloomington, MN where she always was taking scenic and wildlife portraits. She then started photographing portraits of friends and family. She was a full time Executive Assistant for many years and a part-time photographer at a studio in the Twin Cities until one day she left the corporate world, despite the pay cut, for full time photography opportunities. She received valuable experience and mentoring from her previous employers as well as continued education from the professional affiliations she is a member of. Her experience has allowed her to develop her style and perfect her artistry. She always dreamed of having her own portrait studio and made the decision to finally make her dream come true. Julie Rae also has a love of art and incorporates that into her photography by making art prints/paintings for your home from the images she takes.

Julie Rae has been recognized for her dramatic and elegant photography in local, state and national professional photography competitions. She was honored with the Fuji Masterpiece Award in Fargo, ND in March of 2006. Additionally, she received First Place at the TCCPA annual print awards in January of 2007. And she received the 2006 PPA Silver Photographer of the Year award in January of 2007 in San Antonio, TX.
